Monday-We will finish our discussion of Chapter 11. Students will finish and turn in p. 351 1-5. Students will write a Chapter summary using a word list provided by the teacher.
Tuesday-We will introduce Chapter 12 by reviewing the timeline and pictures on pp, 358-359. Students will create a worksheet covering pp. 360-365.
Wednesday-We will go over the worksheet as a class. We will read and discuss pp. 365-368 Jackson in the White House.
Thursday-We will discuss section 3 pp. 371-374. Students will do a worksheet covering these pages. We will review the Chapter.
Friday-We will test on Chapter 12. Students will read 380-384 in preparation to start new chapter on Monday.
Monday-Holiday for students.
Tuesday-Turn in poster project at the start of class. We will then examine timeline and pictures on pp. 328-329 as an introduction to Chapter 11. Students will read pp. 331-335 and do p. 335 1-5.
Wednesday-Students will be tested on Chapter 10-review sheet was given on previous Friday. Students will then do a worksheet of questions covering pp. 337-342.
Thursday-We will go over worksheet in class giving students the opportunity to participate and ask questions.
Friday-We will cover section 3 of Chapter 11with special emphasis on the development of sectional. pp. 342-346.
Monday-We will discuss section 3 pp.312-314. Students will finish notes on these pages for a grade. Please don’t forget project due Friday.
Tuesday-We will investigate the factors that led to the War of 1812. Students will answer questions from a teacher made ditto. pp. 316-319.
Wednesday-We will review the War of 1812. We will discuss the major battles and events of the war.
Thursday-We will finish our duscussion of the War of 1812 and we will review the entire Chapter-10.
Friday-Test on Chapter 10. After testing students will read pp. 329-334. Pojects are due.
Monday-We will discuss section one Chapter. 302-305. We will examine Jefferson’s view of government and the role played by John Marshall in strengthening the Supreme Court. I will also explain project that will be due the 15th.
Tuesday-We will discuss the Louisiana Purchase and the journey of Lewis and Clark.Each student will do a creative writing exercise about Lewis and Clark pp. 306-310.
Wednesday-We will discuss how U.S. neutrality was threaten and how the government responded. Students will do p. 314 1-5.
Thursday-We examine the causes, fighting and the results of the War of 1812. Students will answer questions from a teacher prepared ditto sheeet. They will work in pairs.
Friday-We will continue discussing the War of 1812.
Monday-We will discuss how and why political parties were formed.pp. 287-290. Students will do p. 290 question 1-5. Please remember amendment quiz on Wednesday.
Tuesday-We will examine some of the major events during the term of John Adams. This will included the XYZ Affair and the Alien and Sedition Acts. pp. 291-294.
Wednesday-We will finish and review Chapter 9. We will have a quiz on the amendments. Students will do p.291 Reading Focus and Key Terms
Thursday-We will introduce Chapter 10 by reading the time line and discussing the pictures on p. 300. I will also assign cultural diversity project.
Friday-We will test on Chapter 9. Students will read pp. 302-305.

Wednesday-We will examine Hamilton’s Plan to pay the nation’s debt and help solve the money problems of the early republic. pp. 280-282.
Thursday-We will discuss how George Washington created America’s first foreign policy. pp. 284-286. Students will do notes on pp. 284-286 for a grade.
Friday- We will discuss the formation of early political parties. pp. 287-291.
Monday-We will review the Judicial Branch and Checks and Balances. We will also examine the Bill of Rights and some of the later amendments added to the Constitution. pp. 256-261.
Tuesday-We will discuss the role of local and state governments in the lives of citizens. We will also take a look at the rights and duties of citizenship. pp. 262-268. Students will do p. 261 1-5 and 268 1-4.
Wednesday-We will have a brief quiz on the Bill of Rights and other amendments. We will introduce Chapter 9. We will read and discuss the time line and pictures on pp. 276-277.
Thursday-We will discuss events that shaped our nation during the term of George Washington. pp. 278-282.
Friday-We will finsh our discussion of Hamilton’s financial plan. Students will do p. 282 1-5.
Wednesday-We will have a quiz on the Bill of Rights.
Monday-We will examine the process of approving the Constitution. We will contrast Federalist and Antifederalist points of view. pp. 215-218. We will also do an overview of the Bill of Rights.
Tuesday-We will review Chapter 7 to prepare for a test. We will also do an in class creative writing exercise.
Wednesday-Test on Chapter 7. We will then cover some facts about the Constitution. We will discuss the goals and basic principles of the Constitution. pp. 248-251.
Thursday-We will continue to review the basic principles of the Constitution. and the amendment process.
Friday-We will read and discuss the timeline pp. 276-277. We will also discuss the pictures and map on pages 276-277. We we start on section one of Chapter 7. Students will do p. 282 1-5.

Wednesday- We will examine the process used to approve the U.S. Constitution. We will contrast the views of the Federalists and Anti-Federalists. Students will do p. 218 1-6
Thursday-We will review Chapter 7 and do a creative writing exercise.

Thursday-We will discuss the importance of Shays Rebellion and the Constitutional Convention. We will examine some of the famous people that attended the convention.
Friday-We will explore the major compromises of the convention with special emphasis on the Great Compromise. Students will begin work on p. 210 1-5.
